Lesson 3
Found the Learning Express Library easily and was able to navigate the site without any problems. Set up an account, chose adult studies and clicked on "writing skills in the workplace". Took the test and received a score of 15 out 20 without studying the lessons. The test results were easy to read and found it nice that there was an explanation of why my answer was wrong.
Chose a career, Caseworker, there were well written lessons, advice from caseworkers on training and choosing a job. Thought the caseworker advice section a very good idea.
Typed in "skills improvement" and the site brought up calculus as one of the choices for improvement. There was a text at the beginning to test your skill and lessons to refresh your memory.
Overall I found this to be a very helpful learning tool for job advancement or even to help choose a career path.
Now on to lesson 4!

Well finally got lesson two done last week and now finding time to write about it. Thank goodness for parent/teacher conferences.
The Chilton website was easy to use, confusing information for me as I don't understand all the car terminology . Found our 2013 Impala and there was not much to read so looked up our 1995 Buick Skylark where there was much more to look at. The Skylark of course has more than the 30,000 miles on it so the millage was 75,000 miles.
Maintenance suggested was:
1. Service and inspect automatic transmission fluid and filter.
2. Service and inspect automatic transmission shift linkage.
3. Service and inspect brake hoses and linging.
No recalls or alerts since 2004 but there was a lot to read from the years before that.
Under repairs I looked up brakes and there where 8 different categories wo choose from to find your information.
This would be a useful source for someone who likes to work on cars.
Looking at the Mango site was more exciting for me as I have a daughter-in-law who is Japanese and would really like to learn some phrases before June when we are planning to go visit my Son's family.
This website was easy to use and the instruction was simple.
My computer is not set up so that I could speak and the program tell me if I was saying the phrases and words correctly, that is a very nice feature of the program and wish I had been able to make use of it. Being able to back up and practice the words and phrases was a very nice feature. Would definitely see this as a useful tool for most age groups.
Well, on to lesson three!

Lesson !
Found World Book for Kids, it was very easy, looked up Llama. The information as in a simple to understand form and would definitely be helpful to younger students. World Book Online Reference gave more information at a higher level suited to the students in the middle range of our school. Both locations had pictures as well as lead ins to other related animals.
There was an over abundance of information when I looked up Peru on the Reference Center. The left side of the page gave close to 100 different places to find information on the country in question. WOW! While the right side of the page had 7 articles about the history of the country. This would definitely be useful for older students when doing reports.
