Well finally got lesson two done last week and now finding time to write about it.  Thank goodness for parent/teacher conferences.
The Chilton website was easy to use, confusing information for me as I don't understand all the car terminology .  Found our 2013 Impala and there was not much to read so looked up our 1995 Buick Skylark where there was much more to look at.  The Skylark of course has more than the 30,000 miles on it so the millage was 75,000 miles.
Maintenance suggested was:
1.  Service and inspect automatic transmission fluid and filter.
2.  Service and inspect automatic transmission shift linkage.
3.  Service and inspect brake hoses and linging.

No recalls or alerts since 2004 but there was a lot to read from the years before that.

Under repairs I looked up brakes and there where 8 different categories wo choose from to find your information.

This would be a useful source for someone who likes to work on cars.

Looking at the Mango site was more exciting for me as I have a daughter-in-law who is Japanese and would really like to learn some phrases before June when we are planning to go visit my Son's family.

This website was easy to use and the instruction was simple.
My computer is not set up so that I could speak and the program tell me if I was saying the phrases and words correctly, that is a very nice feature of the program and wish I had been able to make use of it.  Being able to back up and practice the words and phrases was a very nice feature.  Would definitely see this as a useful tool for most age groups.

Well, on to lesson three!

  1. Fun post! What a great use for Mango. I think it is super to be able to learn Japanese to speak to family.

    Thanks for your work,
    Julie
